Mobile remote controlled screen & custom face detection system

The project consists of a screen that moves around the city in a remote-controlled car. An integrated 360º camera with a face detection system shows every second a different face of the people in the surroundings on the monitor. The entire function of the system is live and autonomous, no data or images are stored.

The project appeals to the grey areas in relation to image rights in public space, focusing on the limits of what is legal in relation to the public image of people.

First test run recorded at Karl-Heine Str. Leipzig

Supported by Akademie der Künste, Berlin with funding from the federal government commissioner for culture and media as part of the Neuestart kultur programme.
